NCAA STEPS FOR JUNIORS & SENIORS

If you are a future college athlete, there are several extra steps you need to take on your road to college.  Please see the steps and resources below or download the Hillsboro Guide to the NCAA here: NCAA Eligibility Center – Registration Steps.

Step 1: Register for the NCAA Eligibility Center

□  Go to the NCAA Eligibility Center at www.eligibilitycenter.org.

□  Click “Enter Here” in the green box that says “NCAA College-Bound Student-Athletes.”

□  Click “New Account” in the brown box in the top right corner.

□  Create a new account.  Be sure to correctly enter your email address and high school.

□  Be sure to carefully answer the questions about amateurism.

□  For more detailed directions go to www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/future/how-register

Step 2:  Pay the NCAA Registration Fee

Pay the NCAA fee.  Fee waivers are available if you qualify.  Talk to one of the counselors to determine whether or not you qualify.  If you qualify, request a fee waiver on your NCAA account.  Once you request this fee waiver, Mr. Ketner will approve it online if you qualify.  The NCAA will automatically delete your entire account if you do not pay the fee within 30 days.

Step 3:  Submit your ACT and/or SAT scores

Take the ACT and/or SAT and submit your scores to the NCAA using code 9999.  If you have already taken the ACT or SAT and need to send your scores, you will have to send your scores to the NCAA directly from www.actstudent.org or from www.sat.org.

Step 4:  Submit Transcripts

Please let Mr. Ketner know when you have created your NCAA account so he can upload your official transcript to the NCAA website.  You may email Mr. Ketner (brian.ketner@mnps.org) to let him know.

Step 5:  Submit Final Transcripts

When you graduate, you will need to request final certification and send your final transcripts and proof of graduation.  See Mr. Ketner for this, just like Step 4.
