    These scholarships are from local community organizations, corporations, and other sources.  Qualifications, award amounts, and deadlines vary by scholarship.  Scholarships are sorted by the date posted and NOT by the scholarship deadline.

    Tennessee Relocation Council Scholarship:  The Tennessee Relocation Council (TRC) is proud to announce the Peter Hiro Memorial Scholarship for current high  school seniors who have relocated into the Middle Tennessee area over the course of their high school career.  For more info and application, visit  Deadline is March 1, 2018.

    Sigma Gamma Rho Scholarship:  Sigma Gamma Rho’s Scholarship for young women: Sigma Gamma Rho – Scholarship Letter to School Counselors 2017 and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Upsilon Sigma Chapter 2018 Scholarship Application.  Deadline is February 19, 2018.

    Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants Scholarships The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. AWARD VALUE: $1,000. JUNIORS!  Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarships  PCA awards scholarships of $1,000-$2,000 (depending on location) to high school athletes, based on their essays explaining how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson.  See the website for more info: PositiveCoach This scholarship will be open for application on January 1, 2018.

Discover Scholarships Discover® Student Loans is giving away $100,000 in scholarships. Students can get tips and resources on paying for college and enter for a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship award.  No purchase or student loan necessary.  Enter now at

Volunteer State Community College Scholarship  These are private donor scholarships that can be granted in addition to the TNPromise scholarship.  It will not lower the recipient’s TNPromise scholarship which means this money can be used to pay for books and other necessities for college.  This year we awarded 180 scholarships totaling $292,000. The application is now available at: There is no published deadline, but they give out awards in April, so apply now.

Jackie Robinson Scholarship The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides a multi-faceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of minority students who aspire to attend college but also to guide them through the process of higher education.  See for more info.  Deadline is February 1, 2018.

Nashville Sounds Scholarship The Nashville Sounds Foundation will award $2,500 scholarships to four graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in fall of 2018. Interested seniors must complete the application process at   The deadline is Friday, February 16, 2018.

Hendrix Scholarship Competition- Bethel University offers a great opportunity for qualifying students to come and experience campus life, while competing for scholarships! For the Hendrix competition students have the opportunity to stay in a dorm on campus, eat in the cafeteria, and have first-hand experience to life at Bethel. The competition consists of an interview, test, and essay. All students interested in this opportunity can apply at:

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program Through participation in The American Legion Oratorical Contest, high school students can earn needed education money. By writing and presenting an original speech focused on the United States Constitution, students also develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the country’s guiding document. Students have a chance to win up to $18,000 in scholarships. BigSun Scholarship  The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach or official. The Montesi Scholarship  The Law Office of Gatti, Keltner, Bienvenu & Montesi in Memphis is offering a $2,500 scholarship for 2018. It will be awarded to a student from Tennessee that has been accepted to or have an active enrollment in undergrad school. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) General Scholarship Program APIASF offers scholarship opportunities for Asian American and Pacific Islander students with financial need to increase their access to higher education and resources that cultivate their academic, personal, and professional success. The APIASF General Scholarship Program offers a range of scholarships from one-time $2,500 awards to multiyear $20,000 awards, offers awards that can be used to cover the total cost of attendance, not just tuition, room, and board, focuses on students who are representative of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community’s geographic and ethnic diversity

B. Davis Scholarship-The creators of the “Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a $1,000 scholarship for 2018. Please visit their website to learn more and apply for the scholarship. Their website was developed for the purpose of helping students locate and apply for scholarships! The deadline for applications is May 22, 2018

University of Memphis-First Scholars Scholarship-The First Scholars program is for incoming freshmen who will be First Generation college students. The program provides peer mentor support from students who are involved in various facets on campus, as well as networking opportunities with prominent faculty and staff. This scholarship program includes an annual $5,000 scholarship. Apply here. Scholarship deadline is February 1, 2018.

UT Martin-The Call Me Mister Program is currently recruiting its first cohort members. Applicants must agree to teach in a TN school for each year of assistance they receive from UT Martin. AFS Project Change Scholarship-Win a full scholarship to embark on a life-changing experience—designed by you. Submit your idea for a community service project and travel to your top destination. Adventuresome high school students wishing to study abroad w/without scholarships with AFS-USA need to go to and Deadline is December 18, 2017.

Nursing Scholarship-Each year the Tennessee Elks continue to fund varying levels of scholarships to students. This program is administered by the Tennessee Elks Benevolent Trust (TEBT). This scholarship is intended to be used by individuals pursuing a 4-year nursing degree for more information click here.

Trade Scholarship- The Trade Scholarship is an innovative scholarship intended to help those students that are often overlooked for financial aid. The Trade Scholarship is for graduating seniors as well as non-traditional students (those changing career fields or those needing additional education to progress in their current career) who will be pursuing a trade or certificate program. For more information click here.

Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship- The Tau Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is accepting applications for scholarship funds awarded by the Education Foundation.
