Test optional colleges
Some colleges have a test optional policy, which means applicants may not have to submit any test scores to get accepted. FairTest.org has a list of colleges that have test-optional policies. For more info about whether or not to submit test scores to a test-optional college, see a good explanation from Hofstra on their Standardized Testing Policy page.
TEST PREP
GEAR UP Nashville and Oasis College Connection offer free ACT Prep through Methodize. Go to methodize.methodlearning.com/join and enter the code krjtfl8 to sign up. If you have any issues, you can email our Oasis College Connections Mentor, Daniel Mehus at dmehus@oasiscenter.org.
TNDOE/UTM ACT Prep Workshops (FREE) – In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education, UT Martin is providing free, virtual workshops and classes for all Tennessee high schools students and teachers on how to be successful on the ACT.
ACT Prep Resources (FREE) – The ACT shares a free student guide in English and Spanish as well as full practice tests and ACT Question of the Day. They do require you to enter your name and email address which also helps you informed about ACT updates.
Tennessee Electronic Library College Prep (FREE)- You will need to set up a free account, but this is a great resource. For more TEL resources, see the TEL Testing and Education Resource Center.
